Our Mission
We believe useful study tools should be within reach of anyone who is studying. QuizGPT is free to try and needs no account, so you can start studying without committing to anything.
Every part of the flow is designed around one outcome: less time spent producing study material, and more time spent actually learning it.
By handing the tedious part of producing study material to AI, QuizGPT leaves you more time for the part that matters: understanding the material and remembering it.
Our Story
QuizGPT started from a simple observation: building flashcards and practice questions takes a lot of time, and that time comes straight out of actually studying.
QuizGPT is an independent project, designed, built and maintained by an indie developer, Terry Wren, based in Shenzhen, China. There is no company behind it.
The first version went live in August 2025 and it has been in continuous development since. The aim is straightforward: make it quick to turn whatever you are already studying into something you can practice with.

How the AI works
QuizGPT is a web application. It sends your input to large language models operated by third-party AI providers, through their APIs, and uses the responses to build flashcards and questions. QuizGPT does not train its own models, and it does not use your content to train anyone else's.

Card and question generation is done by established large language models from third-party providers, called through their APIs. See the Terms of Service for the providers currently in use.

The flow is built around techniques with decades of research behind them, such as spaced repetition and active recall.

Nothing to install and no account needed to try. QuizGPT works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone.

In March 2026 we shipped history across the site. You can now see all of your completed quiz history in one place.
From the History page, you can replay any saved quiz session or delete records you no longer need.
It involved a meaningful amount of product, database, API, and UI work.
